Programme Costs
The Indielab Games Accelerator 2023 is delivered with the generous support of our sponsors and funders. Our costs are heavily subsidised and for 2023 we have fully funded places available for companies to attend from Scotland, Wales, England and from under-represented groups through our diversity and inclusion scheme. If you are selected to join the cohort you will be offered a free programme (valued at £13,685).
This three-city programme takes place in-person across the UK. Costs you are asked to cover yourself include travel and accommodation for all sections of the programme in Glasgow, Cardiff and London, and general subsistence costs during all modules. Subsidised accommodation allowance or prices will be made available where possible and more details will be shared once an offer letter has been issued.
The programme is often over-subscribed, so if a place is not offered this year then we encourage indies to reapply in the following year; many companies have applied twice before being selected.
Nations scheme criteria
We welcome applications from across the UK and thanks to our funding arrangement we are able to exclusively offer a number of places on our Nations scheme for studios based in Scotland and Wales.
For those applying for a place under the nations scheme, these additional criteria may apply:
Your company is looking to raise in is looking to raise investment in the next 12-18 months
Your headquarters is based in Scotland or Wales
Companies wishing to apply for a nations placement should detail so on their application form.
Diversity and Inclusion scheme Criteria
We welcome applications for the Diversity Placement Scheme from companies founded by people from the following under-represented groups, including but not limited to founders who identify as:
Black African, Black Caribbean, and any other Black background;
Bangladeshi, Chinese, Indian, Pakistani, and any other Asian background;
White and Asian, White and Black African, White and Black Caribbean, and any other mixed ethnic background.
Female identifying within the gender binary
D/deaf, Disabled and Neurodivergent founders
LGBTQI+ (including those who identify outside of the gender binary)
Any other under-represented group
There are a limited number of places available on each accelerator, and we expect a high level of interest in the program, so encourage potential applicants to attend one of our briefings or book a one-tone with a member of the Indielab.
Accessibility
Indielab actively welcomes applications from D/deaf, disabled and neurodivergent-led studios and companies. Our definition of disability is based on that in the Equality Act 2010: a physical or mental condition that is long-lasting and has a substantial adverse effect on day-to-day activities. For further details, please see Indielab’s accessibility and inclusion policies.
If you would like a large print version of our application form, or would like to discuss your application or access needs in more detail, do please contact Andrew Daly, Indielab Games’ Programme Co-Ordinator: andrew@weareindielab.co.uk
